VOCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS

PARTNER INSTITUTIONS

The Rodeo is proud to partner with nine colleges offering certifications and degrees in vocational training programs by providing scholarship funding. The Rodeo provides funding in support of specific programming at each partner institution. Scholarship amounts and the programs supported by the Rodeo vary each year based on industry needs. HISTORICAL GIVING

Since 2015, the Rodeo has supported more than 660 students seeking degrees and certificates with total scholarships valued at more than $3 Million.

2025 Program

In 2025, the Rodeo funded scholarships in concentrations including:

  • Nursing
  • Commercial Truck Driving
  • Welding
  • Diesel Equipment Technology
  • Medical Imaging Tech
  • Aviation Maintenance
  • EMT Certification

Historical Support

Since the program’s inception, the most often funded fields include:

  • Welding & Pipefitting
  • Chemical Processing
  • HVAC
  • Truck Driving and Maintenance
  • Construction and Manufacturing

Area Go Texan Vocational Scholarship

In 2026, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will award 68 $6,000 scholarships to students in participating Area Go Texan counties.

The Rodeo proudly partners with Workforce Solutions to host an annual career and education fair focusing on industrial and vocational medical fields. The event welcomes youth, young adults, and job seekers of all ages and experience levels. The Rodeo hosts several events for youth competitors to hone their skills.
