WORLD CLASS COMPETITORS ADVANCE TO RODEOHOUSTON® SEMIFINALS
As the RODEOHOUSTON semifinals get closer, many competitors are still hitting their stride to win the $50,000 purse.
TIE-DOWN ROPING
It is a family affair for Super Series IV Champion, Shane Hanchey, as he and his wife, Breakaway Roper Taylor Hanchey, qualify for the RODEOHOUSTON Semifinals. Hanchey won the third round with a time of 7.8 seconds. Tuf Cooper followed with a time of 8.1 seconds.
“With Tuf roping an 8.1, I knew I had to be fast,” said Hanchey.
Advancing to Semifinal Round:

BAREBACK RIDING
RODEOHOUSTON Rookie Cole Reiner rode Y-5 You See Me from the Calgary Stampede to secure his Super Series win.
When asked about his past experience attending RODEOHOUSTON as a kid, Reiner said, “You see everyone you look up to as a kid make a name for themselves here.”
Advancing to Semifinal Round:

TEAM ROPING
The electric duo Quinn Kesler and Caleb Hendrix won two rounds to get the Super Series win.
Advancing to Semifinal Round:
- Quinn Kesler: Holden, Utah; and Caleb Hendrix: Fallon, Nevada – $11,500
- Kaleb Driggers: Stephenville, Texas; and Junior Norgueira: Lipan, Texas – $10,000
- Clay Tryan: Lipan, Texas; and Jake Long: Morgan Mill, Texas – $6,000
- Garrett Tonozzi: Lampasas, Texas; and Garrett Busby: Millsap, Texas – $5,000
SADDLE BRONC RIDING
World Champion Ryder Wright rode for 91 points to convincingly win the Super Series and advance to the Semifinal Round.
“It’s amazing to be able to go to big rodeos and get on big horses,” said Wright.

- Wyatt Casper: Miami, Texas – $2,750

STEER WRESTLING
The legend Will Lummus won the Super Series IV title in steer wrestling. This win provided Lummus with momentum heading in to the Semifinal Round.
“As long as you move on,” said Lummus. “That’s the name of the game.”

BARREL RACING
Kassie Mowry proved to be the fastest and most consistent jockey throughout the three rounds to earn herself the Super Series win.
Advancing to Semifinal Round:
- Kassie Mowry: Dublin, Texas – $8,000
- Stephanie Fryar: Waco, Texas – $3,750
- Molly Otto: Grand Forks, North Dakota – $3,000
- Shali Lord: Lamar, Colorado – $2,750
BULL RIDING
Parker Breding will ride another bull in the Semifinal Round after earning himself the title of Super Series IV Champion.

- Parker Breding: Edgar, Montana – $6,000
- Jordan Spears: Caldwell, Idaho – $3,000
- Brody Yeary: Stephenville, Texas – $2,000
- Ruger Piva: Challis, Idaho – $2,000
BREAKAWAY ROPING
Taylor Hanchey roped her way to split the round win with Tiada Gray. Both athletes made a 2.9 second run, earning them a spot in the Semifinals.
Advancing to Semifinal Round:
- Tiada Gray: Portales, New Mexico – $2,500
- Taylor Hanchey: Carmine, Texas – $2,500
The top four from each event, from each Super Series will advance to a Semifinal Round. The top four from each event in the Semifinal rounds will advance to the RODEOHOUSTON Super Series Championship, Saturday, March 19. The remaining six from each event in the two semifinals will compete in the Wild Card Round, Friday, March 18, where the top two from each event will advance to the Championship. Each event champion will walk away with a $50,000 payout, in addition to previous winnings.
