DREAMS COME TRUE AT THE HOUSTON LIVESTOCK SHOW AND RDOEO™ JUNIOR BREEDING BEEF HEIFER SUPREME SELECTION</p>

Bright lights shined upon exhibitors as the Junior Breeding Beef Heifer Supreme Champion Selection took place in NRG Center on the iconic green shavings.

Kylee Gaston, an 11-year-old from Eastland, Texas, was named the Overall Supreme Champion Junior Breeding Beef Heifer at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

Gaston, and her Limousin heifer, won top honors this year. Named Hershey, Gaston said she got her name because “she’s just so sweet.”

The Eastland FFA member noted that her heifer has been remarkable since the beginning. “When my dad saw her for the first time, he knew she would be special,” said Gaston.

The Overall Reserve Supreme Champion Junior Breeding Beef Heifer honors went to Lamar County 4-H member Jaden Johnson.

Johnson’s Red Angus heifer, Ginger, has been “easy to feed and easy to take care of” since the beginning. Johnson is 18 years old and lives in Paris, Texas.

Chris Mullinix, Dr. Chris Cassady and Brady Jensen sorted through exceptional heifers over three days at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

“The quality has been absolutely jaw-dropping,” said Jensen. “The kids are fantastic, and it’s really made it a pleasure to work out here on the green chips.”
