A Celebration of Western Heritage

Every February since 1938 the nation’s fourth largest city is transformed from a bustling metropolis to a down-home celebration of Western heritage. Decorative floats intermingle with thousands of men and women on horseback to fill the streets with hoof beats and marching bands. Enthusiastic Houstonians join out-of-town spectators to line the streets and sidewalks to be involved in one of Houston’s most popular celebrations!

Kevin Sumlin, Head Aggie Football Coach, Served as 2013 Parade Grand Marshal

With a more-than-successful first season in the NCAA Southeastern Conference behind him, Texas A&M University’s head football coach Kevin Sumlin helped kick off the world’s largest livestock show and rodeo as grand marshal of the Downtown Rodeo Parade. The Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band lead the Downtown Rodeo Parade with Coach Sumlin.
