As a child growing up in Mexico, Julion Alvarez dreamed of becoming a great singer as he listened to music filled with rhythm and pretended to play instruments while singing along. He tried his talents at grade school talent shows, taking first place in high school for singing “Corazon Usado.” His band Julion Alvarez y Su Norteño Banda experienced commercial success with its debut full-length album release in 2007. Since then, the band has released two more studio albums, along with a live recording.
